what we have learnt from the production of "man of steel" swede:

In our swede we used convergent technologies such as the digital camera to record scenes at different shot angles. this helped us to embark on our skills using over the shoulder shots, extreme close up, and match cuts. we were also able to promote our swede on various social networks such as Facebook, twitter and youtube.
  • a tent pole movie is a movie put out by a film company and therefore has expectations of it gaining a lot of profit however it ends up not achieving its predicted target. for example warners brother co-produced a movie called "battlefield' which S revenues fell 3% to $4.28 billion for the period from May to this Labor Day weekend, the first drop in summer revenues in seven years. Attendance fell 4% to 533 million admissions, the lowest number since 1993 when modern records began.  although our swede was not a tent pole movie because we had no intention of making profit off it.

  • for our swede we had been able to produce a great filming through the use of our convergent technologies however we were also able to put our movie up on the internet which allowed us to gain views and opinions on the work we had produced. as pro-consumers we were able to advertise our swede through internet access but also through the use of podcasts and posters.
  • moreover in our swede movie we were also able to adapt our knowledge of cross media convergence to the context of the movie "man of steel". for example man of steel (superman) actually started off as a comic in the 1980s . Due to the huge popularity of the comic it was decided by film producers to bring out a live movie  of  "superman'.
we also used synergy in our swede. we created a radio podcasts to promote our swede. our target audience was everyone as we wanted people to be inspired by the character superman but also we wanted to gain a wide fan base.

WHAT WE DID FOR OUR SWEDE

In our superman swede different convergent technologies where used such as Macs. The macs where used for a lot of different purposes. We used the mac for editing our swede clip with 'final cut pro' and we also used the mac in the distribution through the internet by uploading our video on you tube to show to our audience.

Our swede was not a tent pole because our main objective was not to make profit.  A tent pole is a movie that the main release does not bring back the amount of money the produces are expected to receive.

In our swede we made use of synergy.  We had a podcast where lolade has an interview with shah and they talked about the production stage of the man of steel. This links back to our swede which shows the use of synergy.

Our target audience was mainly our age group from 16 - 21. We got our product to them through social medias such as twitter which they followed us and saw tweets about our stuff. We was really impressed when the original man of steel page followed us on twitter, this showed our social media advertisement was getting out there, we also had a facebook fan page which couple people liked.

Our swede was also globally distributed. We uploaded our video on youtube. YouTube has a global presence and people all around the world can see our swede and give us feedback on it.

Filming/Editing - Production

Filming

To film this swede we used a camera to take pictures of us filming and to use with our storyboards. We used a recorder to record the swede which was then inserted into the mac's and imported all the videos. We used a tripod to stable our recorder so we had a good angle to use. When filming we also took in place the different angles and shots so we could have a variety of shots used in our swede to make it more interesting to the audience and more appealing.

Editing

To edit we inserted the memory card from the recorder to the mac and imported all of our video's. After doing this we chose the videos that were the best ones out of nearly more than 50 as we had practiced to be good enough. After this we started to import our chosen videos and pick the scenes one by one, crop and arrange all the shots that had to be done.
